Ingredients
1 cup flaxseeds (alsi)
½ cup sesame seeds (til)
½ cup grated dry coconut (optional but recommended)
1 cup grated jaggery (adjust to taste)
2 tbsp ghee
¼ cup chopped almonds
¼ cup chopped cashews
2 tbsp raisins
1 tsp cardamom powder
Instructions
Step 1: Roast the Ingredients
Dry roast flaxseeds in a pan over low-medium heat until they start crackling. Let them cool, then coarsely grind them.
Dry roast sesame seeds until golden. Keep aside.
Dry roast dry coconut until aromatic.
Lightly roast the chopped nuts in 1 tsp ghee.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, mix ground flaxseeds, sesame seeds, coconut, roasted nuts, raisins, and cardamom powder.
Step 3: Melt Jaggery
In the same pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee.
Add grated jaggery and melt it on low flame until it starts bubbling. Turn off the heat.
Step 4: Combine and Shape
Quickly add the jaggery syrup to the dry mixture and mix well.
While warm, take small portions and shape into laddus.
Let them cool completely before storing.
Tips
If mixture cools down and becomes hard, warm it slightly to shape the laddus.
Store in an airtight container; stays fresh for 2–3 weeks.
