Ingredients




  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes




  • ¾ cup grated processed cheese or mozzarella




  • 2 tbsp cornflour (plus more for coating)




  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs (optional, for binding)




  • 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)




  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped




  • ½ tsp black pepper powder




  • Salt to taste




  • Oil for deep frying








Instructions


Step 1: Prepare the Mixture





  • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, cheese, cornflour, green chilies, coriander, salt, and pepper.




  • Mix everything well to form a soft, non-sticky dough.




  • If the mixture feels too soft or sticky, add some bread crumbs or a little more cornflour.




Step 2: Shape the Balls





  • Take small portions of the mixture and roll into smooth balls.




  • Coat each ball lightly with cornflour to prevent sticking.




Step 3: Chill





  • Refrigerate the balls for 15–20 minutes. This helps them hold shape and reduces breaking while frying.




Step 4: Fry the Cheese Balls





  • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium flame.




  • Drop the cheese balls gently into the oil and fry until golden brown and crisp.




  • Do not overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if needed.
